The BMH83M101A is a highly integrated, high-precision pulse oximetry module that adapts the original BMH08101 module cable into a 5P-HY2.0mm interface. It utilizes photoplethysmography (transmissive PPG) for oxygen measurement and supports a UART interface to transmit oxygen saturation (SpO2), pulse rate, and perfusion index (PI) data directly to the host.
This product supports three data transmission modes, customizable to your requirements:
- Timed / Continuous Mode (automatically uploads measurement data every 12ms)
- Request-Response Mode (transmits a single data package only upon receiving a host command)
- Sleep Mode (enters low-power sleep mode via host command, awakenable by any other command)

The BMH83M101A routes the BMH08101 pinout to a standard 5P-HY2.0mm connector, enabling plug-and-play connectivity with BMduino development boards. Please wait 250ms after power-on before issuing commands from the host.
If a BMduino development board is unavailable, it can also be easily integrated with other platforms (e.g., Arduino UNO).
MEASUREMENT NOTES
Measurement success depends heavily on appropriate usage. Based on testing evaluations, reliable readings require the following practices:
Place the fingertip flat and ensure it fully covers the measurement zone to minimize ambient room light interference.
Apply light, relaxed contact without pressing down forcefully.
Maintain a clean optical surface by wiping the window with a lint-free tissue.
★ The module automatically runs finger detection and status routines (Status 0x01 to 0x03). It takes approximately 15 seconds to evaluate and stabilize outputs; keep the finger completely still during this process.
