Wireless charging technology has been widely used in a variety of products, such as mobile phones, furniture, automobiles, etc. Qi is an open, universal charging standard created by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).

Compliance with standards allows for better interoperability and security for wireless charging products. This product is a Qi-compliant 10 watt (9V/1.1A) wireless charging transmitter module. It can directly charge mobile phones with wireless charging function, and can also charge the receivers that compatible with the Qi standard, but will not charge for receivers that are incompatible with the Qi standard.

In addition to power and compatibility, when choosing a wireless charging module, you also need to consider the safety, charging distance, and power saving performance. This module has protection functions such as metal foreign object detection(FOD), over voltage protection(OVP), over temperature protection(OTP), and over current protection(OCP). When any of the above abnormal conditions are detected, the module will stop transferring power and ensure safety. The maximum charging distance is 7 mm, so the smartphone in a phone case can still be charged. The module has excellent power saving capability by providing 82% maximum power transfer efficiency.

To achieve the function of wireless fast charging, a charger that meets QC2.0 and above must be used to power the module, and the charging cable must also be able to withstand large currents (3A and above). If the charger does not have the function of QC2.0 and above, this module can only wirelessly charge the receiving end that meets the Qi standard with a normal charge (5W).

Q1: Can I change the distance between the charging coil and the PCB board?

Answer: It is not recommended that you change the distance between the charging coil and the PCB board.
       Because the distance has been calculated, the transmission may be unstable if you change it.

Q2: What is the role of the temperature sensor? Where should I place it?

Answer: The temperature sensor is used to sense whether any metal is between the charging coil and device.
       If there is a metal between them, the temperature rise. As a result, it is recommended that you place
       the sensor in the charging coil.

Q3: What is the thickness of the charging coil?

Answer: The thickness is approximately 1mm.
