DESCRIPTION

The product includes a set of transmitter and receiver development boards. It is suitable for garage remote controller applications.

The transmitter includes a development kit, the BCE-GENTX-001, two keyboards, and a module, the BM31C3214-1, which has a built-in sub-1GHz transmitter hopping code MCU, BC68F3132.

The receiver includes a development kit, the BCE-GENTrx8-001, and a module, the BCT-2502-001, which has a built-in sub-1GHz Low-IF FSK RF receiver (433.92MHz), BC2502A.

In addition, Holtek provides a development platform, the RF workshop, to help users develop products easier. Users can adjust TX power, carrier frequency, hopping type, packet format, and many other parameters in the RF workshop. They can also generate a project file to import to the HT-IDE3000 software for advanced development.

HARDWARE OVERVIEW

Transmitter Development Board

  1. External power supply (J1/J2): move the jumper of J5 to VEXT when using this power supply method.
  2. Power source setting (J5)
    - LDO33: mini USB
    - VEXT: external power supply (J1/J2)
    - BATT: batteries
  3. Board currents (J8): remove the jumper and connect to the ammeter before measuring the operating current.
  4. External LVD setting (J3)
    - Power source: VEXT
    - Move the jumper to LVD.
    - Solder R1 and R2 with resistors.
  5. Module: BM31C3214-1
  6. Transmitter signal indication setting
    - Setting as a transmitter signal: move the jumper to LED. When transmitting signals, the LED2 lights up.
    - Setting as a button: move the jumper to KEY, and the F_IO8 (S8/K8) can be used as a button.
  7. Keyboards: there are two keyboards (Direct/Matrix) to use with different modes from the software.
  8. e-Link interface
    - Connect to the e-Link when updating the firmware.
    - Turn off the power (SW1) when downloading. parameters
  9. Mini USB interface: move the jumper of J5 to LDO33 before connecting to a power supply.
  10. Power switch (SW1)

Receiver Development Board

GETTING STARTED

The project example is a standard hopping code remote controller.
Please program the demo code (download from DOCUMENT) to the receiver before starting.

  1. Create a project in RF workshop
    Chip: BC68F3132
Project: standard 4-key remote controller (simple)
  2. RF settings
    Modulation: FSK
    Carrier Frequency: 433.92 MHz
  3. Hopping code parameter settings
Packet Type: Standard (use with Direct keyboard)
    Hopping Type: Simple Learn
The Manufacturer and the Serial Number need to accord with the receiver.
  4. Packet format: we use default values, and adjust them after we test.
  5. Application functions: adjust the functions and button settings.
  6. Connect the e-Link to computer and transmitter development board. After downloading settings to the transmitter, it can transmit signals to the receiver.
PRODUCT FAQs

Question 1
How can I change the manufacture, packet type and hopping type values of the BCT-2502-001?

Answer
Open the ui.h file from the demo code folder, and you can find the default values.
Change the values to what you want to display.
We change the manufacture value from 0123456789ABCDEF to ADD88636686759 in the below example.

Default

Changed

The default manufacturer value in the RF workshop is 0123456789ABCDEF as well. Change it to ADD88636686759.

Default

Changed

The receiver display the manufacturer value on LCD.
