Fingerprint sensor module is used as a way to verify identity. It is widely applied to consumer products such as electronic door locks, access control systems, security safes, etc.

The difference between BM92S2222-A2 and BM92S2222-A is the wire which is sold with module. BM92S2222-A2 is sold with dupont wire, and it is suitable for development process. BM92S2222-A is sold with flat cable, and it is suitable for mass production.

This capacitive fingerprint sensor module can store and identify up to 100 fingerprints. It calculates the induced capacitance when a finger is pressed on the sensor. The built-in 32-bit microcontroller executes signal processing with a unique algorithm to complete high-speed fingerprint sampling, template file establishment, identification and other operations.

This module has a rich command set for operating functions such as to enroll/verify/identify fingerprints and so on. It uses UART interface to communicate with external devices. The external controller can operate this module with communication protocols and instructions.

When a finger touches the metal frame of the fingerprint sensor, the build-in touch IC changes its output signal level. A product can reduce standby power consumption by supplying power to the fingerprint sensor module after detecting the signal level change from the touch IC.
